A company representative told us there are still third-party trackers DuckDuckGo may not be aware of that they have to add to the blocklist. There’s still work to be done on the protection tool. To activate the protection, users will need to go into the browser’s settings, then go through the onboarding process. Users can try out App Tracking Protection by updating your DuckDuckGo browser on your Android phone to the latest version or by downloading it from the Google Play Store (opens in new tab). Developers also aren’t obligated to respect a user’s choice to not be tracked. Kamyl Bazbaz, vice president of communications at DuckDuckGo, told The Verge (opens in new tab) last year that Apple’s tool only blocks a user’s Identifier for Advertisers and nothing else.
